How do you begin writing about something that is to be a journey? I suppose like you would in any good scientific paper, by stating a purpose.

The purpose of this website is to write down my story since having been diagnosed with a cerebral (brain) tumour on January 31, 2007. I won’t deny there is a considerable therapeutic aspect and something for me to work on during my sleepless nights.

Additionally, if this journey can get at least one of you to think over what is quality time in your life, I personally feel this project will have served an even greater purpose.

Those of you who are interested are welcome to take part in this journey, whether you know me or not. However, there is one catch. Unless you have already done so (including told those who need to know) I would like for you to make up your mind about organ donation. For more information, click here. I can understand it is a touchy subject for some but at the moment I really don’t care. Unless you are willing to say no to an organ when you or your family needs one, I believe it’s the least we can do.

P.S. I’m not sure if my organs are of interest to recipients as a result of recent events. However, researchers are (preferably posthumously) welcome to my brain and/or whatever else that may contribute to new scientific endeavours.
